What is Alternator Booster?
 

Hilips Power Booster is an advance technology that was invented by Hilips technologies limited to boost and enhance the performance of current supplied by power generating sets and Inverters for electrical/ electronic appliances that consume high current.

 

How can I use it?
 

After powering your house with your generator or inverter, plug Hilips Power Booster to any socket and then plug your appliance to it. Hilips Power Booster uses about 70 watts from your power source and boost/enhances it to 2000 watt. When appliances are plugged to it, it stabilizes your voltage to 220 (If it was higher) and reduces the 70 watts to between 50 and 60 watts. Since your 0.8KVA generator produces 640 watts, it means you are left with 570 watts (640 watts – 70 watts) to power your other appliances

 

What type of generating set I can use with it?
 

Hilips Power Booster can be used with 0.8KVA generator and above.It also excently well with power inverters of 0.8KVA and above.

 

Am I going to connect it to my generating set?
 

No, not directly, you are to plug it into any socket in your apartment/house and then plug your device onto it.

 

Can I use 2 or more appliances on the Alternator Booster at the same time?
 

No, it is meant for one device or electric appliances at a time.

Can I plug my extension to the booster and then connect my appliances on the extension?
 

No. You are to connect your apliance on the Hilips Alternator Booster directly.

 

My appliance has 2 pin plug. Can I plug it directly on the Alternator Booster?
 

No. Please change your plug to 3 pin plug or use an adaptor.

 

When I plugged my appliance to the Alternator Booster, the indicator light on the Booster went off. Why?
 

It is possible you plugged an appliance higher than 2000 watts or the Booster you have is faulty.

 

I used my iron on the Alternator Booster, but my iron is not hot. Why?
 

You will need to service your power generating set, change the plug and increase the current output of your generator set to produce 220 volt.If the iron is not as hot as expected, then call your technician to change the capacitor on your 0.8KVA generator to 24uf. The capacitor is sold for about N180 (one hundred and eighty Naira only)

 

When I plugged the Alternator Booster to the socket, the voltage meter indicator moved from 0 to 220 without switching on the socket on the booster. Why?
 

The voltage meter indicator was purposely made to read directly to enable you know when there is no power inflow to the Booster.

 

Will your power booster not destroy my appliance incase of high power voltage?
 

Generators produces voltage of between 220 to 240 when fuel is about to be exhausted. To protect your appliances, Hilips alternator Power Booster is fitted with a fuse meant to cut power supply to the booster when voltage is higher than required. You can easily replace the fuse by purchasing another one for about N20.

 

Can it work with electricity supply from National grid (PHCN)?
 

You dont need to use Hilips Power Booster with electricity supply form PHCN since it comes with the current you require to power your appliances.

 

Do I need to switch off my TV, Fans, lights and othe ritems before I use the booster to iron clothes?
